The Chicago Bears have started adding pieces for their new 3-4 Defensive scheme.

Reports from the Baltimore Sun says the Baltimore Ravens outside linebacker

Pernell McPhee is joining the Bears on a five-year deal that is worth nearly $40 million. Which also includes $16 million guaranteed money.

The 6’3″ 280 pound outside linebacker showed signs of being an effective pass rusher and ended the 2014 season with 7.5 sacks, playing behind Pro Bowler Elvis Dumervil and Terrell Suggs.

The Ravens are in a right situation when it comes to the salary cap. McPhee fell on the Ravens list of players they can’t afford to keep per Wilson. The Ravens lined McPhee up all over the field and could see similar action with the Bears.

McPhee was drafted in 2011 from Mississippi St. in the 5th round.
